Helping Others Help Themselves

Why do I spend countless hours on the phone, researching and adding individuals to the database? Why? When you really think about it, it's quite simple...

I'm providing a Voice to those who've been silenced by domestic violence, I'm helping victims who can't or refuse to "Speak-Out" because of FEAR, actually speak out. Fear is a paralyzing evil that attackers and abusers use to control others. I know, I use to subscribe to fear on a daily basis.

I'm often saddened when I see victims return to their abusers only to be killed or to have a child killed or someone close to them killed. Those of us who are stronger than our victims need to realize that their fight is our fight. If we sit back and do nothing, we all lose!!! If you turn away and do nothing, we all lose!!! We can not become passionate about this only when someone we know is killed. Our passion must be for those that are nameless, faceless individuals as well as our sisters, neighbors and friends.

I don't want to hear the negative gossip about another victim and what happened in their household. What I'd like to hear is how you were able to STOP the abuse!!!
