Having Eyes, and Seeing Not...

I will begin writing a book, entitled, "Having Eyes and Seeing Not", which will chronicle the domestic abuse that I suffered along with the domestic abuse stories of other women. I chose the title, "Having Eyes and Seeing Not" because even though I saw some warning signs or negative characteristics in my now ex-husband, I didn't lay it heart. I never thought that I would have been a victim of domestic abuse. I didn't grow up in an abusive home, never had 1 fight in the 5 years I went to elementary school, 3 years in middle school nor 4 years in high school.

I was always a very forgiving person, so in the beginning, his apologies were always received and accepted. The fear I had, turned into an overwhelming desire to fight to reclaim the person I was before I met him. I can only hope that other women can gain the strength to do the same.

In speaking with other women who are past victims, I hear the same thing. One saying, "I knew he had a temper, but it was never directed towards me, until the day that he lost his job". It is my hope that others will be able to learn from our negative experiences and more importantly, lay-to-heart, the things that are being said to them and done around them, before it escalates into abuse...

C H A N G E...

What a historic event!!! Barack Obama is the President-Elect of the United States of America. I remember walking by his store-front office located on 71st Avenue in Chicago, almost everyday, I would look in the windows as I walked by, never getting a change to actually see him.

I think he is extremely capable, as is his Vice-President Pick, Joe Biden. I can not wait to see the changes he brings about. The road ahead is a hard one, we have some definate hurdles to overcome, I have faith in GOD that he will bring about the right change to make the United States a stronger Nation.

Thank you Barack Obama for having the Strength to Run for, and WIN, The Presidency of the United States of America...
